Funding Care What Are Your Options?
There are several ways to pay for care. We’re here to guide you through the main options:
Self-Funding (Private Pay)
If your loved one has savings or assets above the current threshold (£23,250 in England), they’ll typically pay for their care privately.
Local Authority Funding
If their assets are below the threshold, they may be eligible for financial support from the local council. This begins with a Care Needs Assessment followed by a Financial Assessment.
NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC)
In some cases, especially where complex health needs are involved, care may be funded by the NHS in full. We can advise on whether your loved one may qualify.
Top-Up Fees
If the local authority is contributing to care, you may choose to pay a top-up fee to secure a specific home or room not covered by the standard rate.
