At Autograph, we continue to monitor and react to changes in Government guidance for visitors to residents in our homes, and also for those considering a care home for additional support.

The safety and security of our residents and colleagues remains our top priority, however we are keen to facilitate more access to our homes and facilities, when it’s safe to do so.

We’re delighted to say there have been some positive changes to Government guidance, which we summarise below:

1.No requirement to complete 14 day isolation for new residents

The current guidance provides that any new residents to a care home do not need to complete a 14 day self-isolation period, if the following criteria are satisfied:

(a) the resident has received both vaccinations, ideally 3 weeks prior to the proposed date of admission;

(b) the resident has no known recent contact with a COVID-positive person;

(c) the care home has taken into account the resident’s specific circumstances, prior to admission;

(d) the person is subject to an enhanced testing regime consisting of a PCR test before admission (within 72 hours), a PCR test on the day of admission (day 0) and a further PCR test 7 days following admission (day 7).  Additionally, we recommend daily rapid lateral flow testing until the day 7 PCR result has been received; and

(e) local guidance from the Director of Public Health about community transmission of variants of concern is followed.

2.Residents to have up to 5 ‘named visitors’ for in person visits

Our residents can now have up to 5 ‘named visitors’ for in person visits at our homes.  Up to 2 named visitors will be able to visit the care home at the same time, with a maximum of 2 on the same day.

Every care home resident is also offered the opportunity to nominate an essential care giver who can visit on the same day as 2 named visitors and during any period of isolation.

Our COVID secure visitor pods are also available should other family and friends who are not ‘named visitors’ want to visit.

The further relaxation of lockdown restrictions is great news, however we continue to remain vigilant with the safety of our residents and staff our top priority.

Please do not hesitate to contact any of our homes to discuss your specific requirements.
