We were inspected by CQC in July this year and were rated as overall Requires Improvement, as follows:

Good – Caring, Good – Responsive, RI – Effective, RI – Safe, RI – Well Led

The report acknowledges that many changes were already in place or were made immediately to deal with any issues that were raised. We are therefore very confident that when we are inspected again, we will be rated as Good.

We would appreciate the opportunity to give you an up to date view of what we are doing at Inwood and discuss any questions that you may have because of this latest CQC report. There are some key points to note:

Caring and Responsive Staff team

This report praises the care and dedication of the care team at Inwood and included the following observations:

  • Staff were “caring and supported people with dignity” and “encouraged people to make choices and supported them to maintain their independence”
  • Mental Capacity Assessments and DoLs applications were all in place
  • Care plans were noted to be “detailed”, “individualised” and “reviewed regularly”

Management of the home

The report highlights that there hasn’t been consistent management within the home. This has been the case in the past but we believe that Rachel Beech, the new manager, will now provide some long-term stability along with Sherrill Dykes, our new Deputy Manager. Please get in touch and let them give you a guide to all the exciting developments at Inwood.

New Care planning system

At the time of the inspection, we hadn’t yet fully completed our training on PCS, our new care planning system. Unfortunately, we’re not able to show CQC how effective our use of this system is in ensuring that we monitor the care given.

The implementation of PCS is now complete so please give us a call if you would like any more information on how we are using this system to monitor the care that we deliver to your loved one.

Activities

Meaningful activities for all our residents are a key part of what we do at Inwood. We have a full-time activities professional about to join us and we have also subscribed to an exciting new platform to provide bespoke activities for our residents if they wish. Again, please contact us if you would like some more information.
